Dr. R. N. Pani is not a philosopher turning his eye to the field of education; he is a life-long educationist who is discovering the true life-long philosophy of education. He has experienced the current system of education from different angles: student, teacher, guide, examiner, and innovator. Consequently whatever he has to say on the theory and practice of education has an importance and relevance of its own. Education, he avers, is not a part of life, something to be gone through at some stage. It is the whole of life, co-extensive with life in its aim, direction and process. To replace the old system which has broken down all over the globe, we need to build a new edifice reflecting the present imperative of the Time Spirit: holism. Education is not just a training of the mind. It is a discipline that involves the entire being of man.
